You may be wondering...what exactly was or is "Twelve:Remastered"? Twelve: Remastered is an extremely ambitious project where I am the solo artist re-animating the first episode of "Twelve" only this time...we've improved the scripts, redone the voice acting, created original music (courtesy of Raymond Miller!), and are fully animating the entire 15 minute episode. It's going to be hard work, but worth it in the end! The project actually began April 10th, 2018. Three whole scenes were completed with a fourth one on the way by July 2018, but that's when Origins began production, so this massive project was pushed to the side. So much so...that it hasn't been worked on since.
After reviewing what work was already put into the episode...I realized how old the artwork had become in just a few months. I improved greatly and began reading animation textbooks to better myself and by August 2019, I had realized it was time to completely start over. There was so much that needed to change that I ultimately decided to do the hard thing and remaster the remastering of Twelve episode one.
FAQ's: Q: When will Twelve: Remastered be complete? A: I am unsure. I guesstimate about a year if I am able to work steadily on a scene or two each month. I had to start over so it set us back a few months but it'll be worth it! Q: Why are you reanimating Twelve Episode One but not the others?
A: Twelve Episode One is iconic. It's the most viewed video, the beginning of our first story, and it's the hallmark of my animation career. I would love to reanimate the rest of the series like I am with this episode, but if I spent all my time remaking my old stuff, we'd never have new! I like Twelve the way it is, and personally, I am excited to move on with Origins and delve deeper into Twelve's lore! Q: Why are you starting over? You already had so much done! A: As you can see from the screen shot below, the line art is the first problem I encountered. It was very inconsistent and I was putting in way too many frames and it ended up making it look more sloppy than smooth. I have learned so many new techniques to make my animations more pleasing to the eye, and I intend on putting forth that knowledge into the new version of Twelve: Remastered. Simple is sometimes better!
I hope you all will agree with me by saying it was a good idea to start fresh! I can't wait to use the experience I have gained over this past year to truly make this fully animated feature shine! Until the next post, keep smiling!
I started watching little after I turned 9 and I'm obsessed, and hearing season 2 of Origins Rebooted is all about imp (My favorite character) makes me soooooooooooooooo happy can't wait! keep up the (REALLY) great work PetPyves! This Remaster is going to be Lit.
ooo lets see if may really got killed by the thunder after 2020 the asteroid boogaloo
I'll be honest, I kinda forgot you were doing this for a while. Oof. But still, can't wait to see it! Take all the time you need!"I guesstimate about a year..." Take two years if you need it.
My point is, make sure to take your time. I don't do any animation work myself, but I know it can be a long and (at times) tedious process, and I'm glad your giving the one that started it all a full remaster.
This remaster is gonna be awesome! Good luck, PetPyves!
